Ready to Take On the Miami HeatHomestead-Miami, Florida (November 15, 2005)- The #44 US Coast Guard “Shield of Freedom” Team is looking forward to its return to the Sunshine State in the season closer at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. After last year’s season best 6th-place starting position and laying down blistering lap times in final practice, Justin Labonte is hopeful of leaving Miami with a good finish. “I am really looking forward to my 2005 Miami run, especially following all the changes made to the track last year. I like what they have done with the speedway and can’t wait to see what my car has to offer this weekend. We had a really good car last year -- the numbers are proof of that. We just got dealt some bad luck. This U.S. Coast Guard race team is really optimistic about closing the season with a finish representative of our capabilities and to bring due recognition to our sponsors. I am really excited about this year’s run and know that my guys and I can wrap up 2005 with a stellar finish,” states Labonte.
Labonte and crew are also pleased to have the United States Coast Guard 7th District Color Guard and aircraft from Air Station Miami participating in Saturdays pre-race ceremonies on what looks to be a promising day in the Miami heat.
